Naji Hart, 24, of Mays Landing, was arrested on Saturday, May 11, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release. He was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.

Atlantic City police stopped a vehicle for speeding on Route 30 at around 6:28 p.m. Officers said they saw Hart move from the driver's seat to the passenger's seat immediately after they stopped him.

Hart told the officers he didn't have a valid driver's license. Police learned his license was suspended and he also had several active arrest warrants.

A K-9 officer smelled the "presence" of drugs and officers searched the vehicle. They found a loaded gun, brass knuckles, and drug-dealing paraphernalia.

Hart admitted to owning the items and he was brought to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. His passenger was released without any charges.

Anyone with information about the incident should call Atlantic City police at 609-347-5766 or text an anonymous tip that begins with "ACPD" to TIP411 (847411).
